Did you ever think that talking on a cell phone could cause an acne breakout? Cell phones pick up the oils from your hair and face and deposit them back to your face. You can clean the phone with an alcohol-dampened cotton ball to keep it free from these oils. Also, hold the phone slightly away from your face when you talk.

Acne is a medical condition so try talking to your doctor or a dermatologist about a prescription medicine that will specifically aid you with your acne problems. Normal store-brand face washes can dry out your face with its alcohol content and might not target the true source of your acne.

Clean your cell phone and house phones regularly to avoid acne breakouts. Gently clean the screen and number pad with a damp cotton swap and some rubbing alcohol. This will remove any left over bacteria and oils from the surface and won’t reapply them to your cheek and ear, when you go to talk.

One way to reduce acne is to actually reduce your caffeine intake. Coffee and tea and other items that are high in caffeine can elevate stress levels, which will in turn cause breakouts. Try to drink decaf if possible. By eliminating the caffeine in your diet, you are more likely to have clearer skin.

If you want to prevent your skin from breaking out, stay away from caffeine. Most people are very sensitive to caffeine and it causes their skin to break out. Even if you do not drink coffee, chances are you drink pop or energy drinks. These drinks contain a lot of caffeine: check the labels of the drinks you buy and avoid anything containing caffeine.

If you’re having acne problems, try cutting out caffeine from your diet. The caffeine found in coffee, tea and soda, can wreak havoc on your skin and leave you with horrible acne. If you cut at least some of the caffeine from your diet, you should see a lot fewer breakouts.

Limiting the amount of caffeine that you drink can help you reduce acne. Caffeine encourages your body to give off an abundance of stress hormones. These hormones make acne worse, so it is important to stay away from things like chocolate, coffee and tea. Reducing these foods should cause you to see a noticeable difference in your skin.

Eating healthy is a good way to prevent acne. Meanwhile, it hasn’t been scientifically proven that eating a lot of chocolate or oily food, can increase your chance of acne. To make sure you have a clear and healthy complexion, try to eat less oily and fatty foods. Drinking less coffee and drinks with caffeine, is another way to reduce your chance of acne development.

Limit your caffeine intake to avoid acne. Caffeine is a diuretic that can cause your stress hormones to increase, which in turn, can aggravate the skin into causing breakouts or even irritating existing acne. Try to limit your amount of caffeinated beverages and food like coffee, tea, chocolate and other related items.

Although energy drinks are very efficient to provide you with the extra kick that you need for your work day, they can contribute to acne. These drinks are filled with a plethora of sugar and caffeine, which can expedite the formation of acne and cause new pimples to form. Limit your energy drink intake to improve your skin.

Try to avoid overly stressful situations as much as you can. Although stress is not a cause of acne, it make it worse in people already suffering from it. Also, try to avoid drinks high in caffeine, such as soda and coffee, since caffeine can increase your body’s stress level.

If you’re concerned about your acne and wanting to minimize it and prevent future outbreaks, make sure you watch the amount of caffeine you’re consuming, and cut back if necessary. Caffeine, found in things like chocolate and coffee, can cause stress and so aggravate acne, therefore reducing it is key to good skin care success.

Stress and Acne – Is a Stressful Lifestyle Giving You Acne?

Katie Rodan, MD, a clinical professor of skin care at Stanford College stats…

“90% percent of my patients complain by what stress does to their skin. It can have a huge impact, and it is becoming a bigger problem every single day,”

Stress and emotional anxiety triggered by a variety of factors regarding your lifestyle can be manifested on the face. The connection is purely chemical. Whenever you become tense, your adrenals glands go into overdrive, flooding your blood stream using the hormone cortisol. This triggers the sweat glands inside your face to create more oil. Whenever your skin oil glands get into high gear, there is a greater probability this excess oil will mix with the dead skin cells and aggravate your skin, trapping bacteria inside. The end result? More acne, mainly inflamed papules instead of pimples or whitehead’s.

Just what can you do to stop this?

Obviously, you cannot eliminate stress out of your existence – it’s a part of being human. However, you can minimize its damage by leading a much healthier way of life. A well-balanced diet and a minimum of seven hrs rest every evening can help you develop a more powerful physical foundation. Having a good diet and being well rested and you’re not as likely to feel agitated by events during your day. Try to exercise every single day, even when it is simply a stroll around the neighborhood at lunch. You’ll want to take some time from every day to unwind – read a magazine, have a bath, practice yoga, or do whatever enables you to feel good and calm. This is an important step towards overall a healthy body, and then the health of the skin.

The following can be a few everyday examples of acne triggers you may or may not be familiar with, along with a couple of steps you can take to prevent them.

Environment at school, college or work - Since some part of the skin is unavoidably in touch with the atmosphere surrounding you, it’s vital that you give consideration towards the substances that you encounter regularly. You may face comedogenic (pore-blocking) substances at work without realizing it while these substances aren’t the reason for your acne, they are able to aggravate it. For instance, the airborne grease inside a fast-food restaurant can make a hidden film on the skin, blocking your pores. Most industrial oils, such as the types utilized in cars, in industrial facilities, on bicycles – are types of comedogenic.

Acne & Sleep - One of the most important activities that you can do for the skin may surprise you. Sleep researchers all over the world agree that the good night’s sleep which is a minimum of eight hrs, can perform miracles for the complexion. How? A proper, well-rested body has got the assets to construct a powerful defense mechanisms. While a strong defense mechanisms won’t prevent acne altogether, it can aid the fight against infection so that your skin lesions clear up more rapidly. Fortunately, the body isn’t picky continuous sleep during the day is equally as advantageous. If you work late, sleep late – and then try to conserve a regular schedule.

Acne & Sun - While it is true that small quantities of exposure to the sun may initially improve acne, never be misled as the advantage are normally only temporary. Consistent sun bathing will dry the skin, leading to your skin oil glands to create more oil. Also, skin that’s been subjected to long periods of sun exposure needs to slough old cells more often and whenever you mix the additional oil and additional dead cells, you produce the ideal atmosphere for comedones, or blocked pores. If you work (or play) under the sun, it’s vital that you safeguard the skin with sun block. Search for oil-free items that offer a minimum of an SPF 15 protection level from Ultraviolet sun rays.

If you have an acne breakout, resist the urge to scratch or “pop” any pimples. This could cause an infection, scaring, or maybe even both. Initially you could consider trying a quality acne treatment such as Exposed skin care or proactiv.

Read a Full Acne Treatment Products Review

If your acne gets worse, you should then think about making an appointment with a dermatologist who is able to propose something more powerful.

When you get a spot on your face that looks like it should be popped, stop! Don’t touch it!

Try not to touch the pimple, definitely don’t scratch, squeeze or pinch it. However bothersome a pimple may seem, squeezing it can result in additional discomfort and permanent scaring.

If you have developed acne scars a great effective way to clear acne scars is using medicated and non-medicated lotions. These lotions are easily applied privately at home and prove to be most helpful when used over a long period of time. Medicated lotions will help soften your skin over time and heal/treat existing scar tissue.

Just like with bleaching your hair in the sun, putting lemon juice on your skin help to clear acne scars, lightening the redness associated with acne, and help to lighten the old scars left behind as well. Just dab some on your breakouts with a cotton swab. Be careful that you don’t overdue it as some people say that it can sting and burn a bit. The citric acid dries out pimples and lightens red marks and scars. For sensitive skin, try diluting the lemon juice with water or honey before applying.

Remember never touch your face, or pick at a pimple. In general, keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. Popping and picking at acne, can lead to damaging and permanent scars. Use clean wash cloths or sterile cotton balls, instead of your fingers, when applying cleanser.

If you ever pop a pimple, you can try produces such as Neosporin which should be applied as soon as possible. Products like Neosporin helps aid the healing process and can accelerate a scab so that you do not scar as easily. Once the scab is formed, never pick at it, as this can impede the healing process.

A more drastic option to clear acne scars is surgery, such as laser surgery. This is something that has to be suggested by your dermatologist though. Basically, they use a gentle laser and go over the scars. Through repeated treatments, you will start to see these scars diminish and go away for long periods of time.

Use the juice of a fresh lemon, applied to a cotton swab, directly on the mark. You can dilute the juice with water or honey if desired. Doing so helps to dry your pimples and reduce redness.

Just like with bleaching your hair in the sun, putting lemon juice on your skin can lighten the redness associated with acne, and help to lighten the old scars left behind as well. Just dab some on your breakouts with a cotton swab. Be careful that you don’t overdue it as some people say that it can sting and burn a bit.

When you have a pimple on your face that will not go away, try using a natural ingredient such as lemon juice. Lemon juice is a wonderful extract that speeds up the healing process and can bring your acne to a head quicker. This is done by drying out your skin in a safe and secure manner, in order to get rid of pesky zits.

Lemon juice can aid in treating acne and and scarring. The juice contains citric acid which will dry out a pimple. Simply put a little on a cotton ball and place it directly on the pimple. If you have very sensitive skin, be sure to dilute the lemon juice. You can also use it to lighten any red marks caused by scarring.

Try using lemons to combat acne breakouts. Some people find that lemon juice is very effective in getting rid of acne. If you have enlarged pores and oily skin, try applying lemon juice to the area. You should limit the use of lemon juice to only once or twice a week to avoid drying out your skin.

One of the odd, natural ways to clear up acne is to apply lemon juice to the worst spots on your face two to three times a week. Apply it to the enlarged pores, but be sure that you don’t use it more than twice a week, as it will dry out your skin.

Make a facial mask from honey to avoid acne breakouts. While this might sound a bit sticky and disgusting, a lot of people absolutely swear by it. Combine milk, honey, lemon juice, and yogurt. Apply this to your face, and leave it on for about twenty minutes before washing it off.

Honey is an interesting home remedy for acne. It not only indulges your sweet tooth, but has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that kill acne bacteria and reduce redness. Simply apply to the skin or construct a mask by mixing with lemon juice, yogurt and milk. Let on for 20 minutes, for effective results.

Sometimes natural skin care remedies can be used in the place of strong ointments for skin care. Lemons are a great natural acne treatment. Lemons act as an astringent that can shrink acne due to its high acid level. It can also reduce oil levels in the skin. Just apply lemon juice to the skin and let it work for 15 minutes, then wash off, and you’ll see effective results.
